Colombia recorded eleven medals at the Pan American Judo Open

Daniel Paz, in the early hours, was crowned continental champion when he defeated the Argentine Mariano Coto. Paz left Mexican Ángel García and American David Aghasaryan on the way to the men’s 90 kilograms.

Later, Francisco Balanta, hung the gold medal in the men’s up to 100 kilograms. The Colombian judoka beat Ivo Dargoltz, from Argentina, through Ippon.

Johan Rojas, in the -60 kilograms; Juan Hernández, in -66; María Villalba, in the -57 kgs.; Arkangel Barboza, in -73; Alexander Borja, in the -81, and Luisa Bonilla, in the -70, were the Colombian athletes who were in charge of adding the silver medals.

Óscar Morato, Andrés Sandoval and Brenda Olaya, registered the three bronze medals, in the -60 kilograms, -73 and -70 female, respectively.
