CNTU: Águilas Upaep runner-up in women’s doubles

Jessica Gutierrez and Josefina Ramirezmembers of the representative team of the Eagles UPAEP, They won second place in the doubles category within the National University Tennis Circuit (CNTU), which in recent days was held at the ITESM Monterrey facilities, with which the pair endorsed what was done months ago in the first stage of the contest, also disputed in Monterrey territory.

It was precisely in the month of March when the red-and-white representatives reaped the same result in the initial phase of the contest, where they fell in the grand final against the Borregas of ITESM Monterrey, who, with the support of their fans, narrowly edged out the match your favour.

Upon his return home, Josefina Ramírez stressed that although she is happy with what has been done, she is not satisfied with the resultsince they were going for the title, an issue that was not given to them on this occasion either, so they will continue working, knowing that it is a tournament of high quality and therefore complicated.

“I am happy but not satisfied, we really wanted to bring the championship home. The objective for the second stage will continue to be the first place. We had a difficult draw and the first duel helped us to gain confidence”.

Meanwhile, his partner, Jessica Gutiérrez, revealed that what was done was undoubtedly something very meritorious, since unfortunately she came to the race with a back injury that reduced her performance, Ramírez’s support being fundamental, for which she is grateful and committed to recovering and continuing to work.

“I felt relaxed and without the tension of other tournaments. I am very happy because a good result was achieved despite the fact that I had a back injury and during the semi-finals I hurt my ankle. ‘Jose’ was a good support to motivate me”.

Now, the next stage of the event, will have to take place from 14 to 18 October next on the fields of the Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus Estado de México.
