Carlos Alcaraz n’a que du respect pour Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer et Novak Djokovic.

Carlos Alcaraz showed his respect for the Big Three after winning the US Open. He acknowledged that staying at the top for two decades is very impressive. In the US Open final, Alcaraz defeated Casper Ruud 6-4 2-6 7-6(1) 6-3 to win his first Grand Slam title and become the new world number one.

Moreover, Alcaraz is now the youngest number 1 in tennis history. But Alcaraz remain humble and show their appreciation and respect for Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.

“It’s amazing to be the youngest No. 1 in history and all time. But what the big three do is much more difficult: stay at the top for 20 years. That’s what I’m looking for.

I don’t want to compare myself to them, but I want to be like them,” Alcaraz said, as per Jose Morgado.

Alcaraz thinks he can definitely up his game

Coach Juan Carlos Ferrero believes Alcaraz are only at 60% of their potential.

Alcaraz agrees and pointed out that the Big Three have been upping their game for most of their career. “I agree with Juan Carlos. I am at 60% of my potential.

There are a lot of things to improve. Nadal, Djokovic and Federer have improved a lot over the years. I have to improve mentally, physically and in terms of my tennis too.

I can’t stay in my comfort zone,” explained Alcaraz. At 19, Alcaraz is a Grand Slam champion, a two-time Masters champion and the youngest number 1 in tennis history.

But he insists his humble attitude will never change and he will remain the same person he was before the US Open title. “Tomorrow morning, when I look in the mirror, I will be the same young person: proud to be from El Palmar, from Murcia. Proud to be Spanish. I love my family and my country,” Alcaraz said.
