That’s a decent billing of an ex-BVB kicker!

Attacker Reinier (20) played relatively unsuccessfully on loan for Borussia Dortmund from 2020 to 2022, came from Real Madrid. In the podcast “Gringolandia” (episode 183), the Brazilian explains why he is extremely dissatisfied with his time in the Ruhr area.

According to these statements, Reinier and BVB will probably no longer get together…

Ex-BVB striker steps up against Dortmund

Reinier explains in the podcast: “I just wanted to get away from there” and goes on to speak of “two lost years”. Clear words that BVB will probably not like to hear.

The attacker continues to justify himself: “I did my part, trained, went home and was there every day. I was always on time. I respected all employees. I have a clear conscience.” These justifications cause some astonishment, since the points he mentioned should actually be self-evident for a professional footballer.

Reinier joined Real Madrid in January 2020 after strong performances for Flamengo in Brazil. In summer 2020 he was loaned to BVB for two years. But he wasn’t happy in the Ruhr area: he was only used 39 times (one goal) and was only in four games in the starting line-up. According to “transfermarkt.de”, his market value fell from around 25 million euros to eight million euros.

BVB should have hoped for much more from Reinier – the separation was the logical consequence. The offensive star switched to FC Girona on loan in mid-August, has made five appearances there and scored one goal.

BVB flop Reinier: “I’m gaining self-confidence”

He is satisfied with his new start: “It’s a good start, I’m gaining self-confidence and my deployment times are increasing. I am very happy with this decision for my family and myself.”

Is it going back to Real after the year? Reinier: “I want to pursue my path, whether it’s here or with another team, the most important thing is to be happy and do your best.”

His path will probably no longer lead him to BVB.
