The World Baseball Classic will return in 2023. And the United States, champions in the 2017 edition, will look to defend their title next spring. Over the past few weeks, the USA team roster has started to take shape and will continue to assemble over the next few weeks. Lists won’t be finalized until well into the offseason.
General manager Tony Reagins announced on August 19 that veteran former Major League Baseball player Mark DeRosa will be the United States’ coach for the tournament. DeRosa played for the United States in the 2009 Classic and has worked as an analyst for MLB Network since he retired as a player in November 2013.
This is how the United States lineup takes shape. The list is subject to change until officially announced.
