Gabriel Montenegro/DLA.- With the presence of nine entities from the country, in addition to the regional delegation, the National Badminton Championship was inaugurated this Wednesday, August 17, in the U15 and U17 categories for women and men.

The official act of the start of this fair of the sport of the fast racket and the flying «roosters», was attended by the directors of the National Federation of the specialty, among them its president Dhayisbeth Torrealba; the vice president, Yerri Prada; the president of the Trujillo Association, lawyer Gabriela Morales, Anaís González, Davier González from the Indet board, Luis Montilla, trainer and promoter of the activity, and a total of 101 athletes who from this Wednesday August 17 will be in action.

A little history

Badminton is a sport that was born in India at the end of the 19th century and is practiced in countries such as Indonesia, Korea, India itself, Pakistan, China, Japan and Russia, with much progress in our Latin American countries.
