With the presence of leaders and officials from the Games and Tournaments and Physical Activity areas of the province’s Ministry of Sports, the first Patagonian Integration Games were presented in La Pampa, which will take place between September 9 and 11 in Santa Rosa.

The event was held at the Medasur Provincial Cultural Center in the Pampas capital and was attended by the director of Games and Tournaments of the Ministry of Sports, Alejandro Zambón, and the general director of Physical and Sports Activity for People with Disabilities of the provincial portfolio, Matías Holgado. The president of the Neuquén Badminton Club, Hugo Coronato, and the authorities of the Patagonian Sports Entity (EPADE) were also present.

At the event, the competition venues that will house the eight sports of the program were presented. It is estimated that some 700 people will participate in the contest, including young athletes between 14 and 17 years old, with gender parity in conventional and adapted sports, coaches, judges and leaders who will come from the provinces of Neuquén, Tierra del Fuego, Santa Cruz, Chubut, Río Negro, in addition to the hosts.

They will compete in Olympic wrestling, Olympic lifting, artistic gymnastics, tennis, taekwondo, table tennis, badminton and archery. These last three disciplines will also include people with disabilities.

The Patagonian Integration Games were born with the aim of promoting and developing individual indoor Olympic and Paralympic sports in locations with low population density, which is a common characteristic among the Patagonian provinces.

The competition aspires to be a registered trademark of Patagonian sport, following the same path as the Araucanía Games and the Epade Games.
