Amar Sylla, new signing of Betis Basketball

Betis Baloncesto has signed the Senegalese international Amar Sylla, a 2.05 meter insider and 20 years old, who will be his fourth training slot after training in the lower categories of Real Madrid.

The player, also claimed by the Obradoirowill be the third inside to join Gerun and Nzosa in the paint, although in recent years he has developed some ability to shoot from the perimeter.



He arrived at the Real Madrid cadet in 2016 and leaving the white discipline in 2019, completing three years to be a training player. From there he went to Ostend, where he stayed for two seasons, from 2019 to 2021, overcoming a serious knee injury. In the Belgian team he averaged 7.7 points and 6.3 rebounds in 2019-20. In 2020-21, he raised his averages to 9.4 points and 5.7 rebounds in 25 games and almost 21 minutes on average.

The last season he played for Lithuanian side Nevezisaveraging 11.5 points and 7.7 rebounds in 30 games, with a 30.6% success from the triple.

He comes from playing the Summer League with the Cavaliers and in August he will play the qualifiers for the 2023 World Cup with Senegal.
