Tennis players with six medals – El Sol de Hidalgo

With six medals, the state table tennis team returned from the Third Force National Championship that was held at the Mexican Olympic Committee.

There were a total of four gold medals and two bronze medals, in the competition the participation of Ximena Figueroa Muñoz stood out, who won four gold medals in different categories.

In the individual modality of the Sub 19, the woman from Hidalgo defeated Cristina Gómez from the State of Mexico in the final to win her first gold of the competition, meanwhile, Sandra Gómez, also from Hidalgo, won the bronze.

In the women’s team modality, Hidalgo climbed to the top of the podium with the team made up of Ximena Figueroa, Hanna Fernández Márquez, Sandra Gómez Sánchez and Brenda Figueroa Muñoz after beating their similar team from the State of Mexico.

In women’s doubles, Ximena along with her sister Brenda, also painted themselves gold after beating the State of Mexico in the final; and Ximena herself closed her medal harvest in the Third Force individual event with another gold by beating Cristina Gómez from the State of Mexico in the final.

In women’s doubles, Sandra Gómez Sánchez and Hanna Fernández Márquez closed with a bronze by winning the match for third place against Tlaxcala, as reported by Luis Figueroa, president of the Hidalgo Table Tennis Association.

After their participation, the athletes will continue with their training and are waiting for the next competition.
