Solopos.com, SOLO — Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka said he would contact the Persis Solo management regarding the fatalities in the soccer fans brawl in Jogja, some time ago.

The victim, Tri Fajar Firmansyah, 23, died after undergoing treatment at the hospital. Tri Fajar suffered a head injury, allegedly because he was a victim of a wrong target in the rioting of supporters.

At the time of the incident, Monday (25/7/2022), Tri Fajar was working as a parking attendant not far from the location of the riots around Babarsari, Depok, Sleman Regency, DIY. The victim who was wrongly targeted during a brawl in the city of Jogja was recorded as a resident of Sleman Regency, DIY.

Gibran explained that he would contact the management of Persis Solo regarding the death of the victim who was mistaken for a fan brawl in Jogja. “Later, Persis management will take care of it,” he said when met by reporters at Solo City Hall, Wednesday (3/8/2022) afternoon.

President Jokowi’s son advised football fans to be polite when traveling and to provide support to their favorite team that competes out of town. “That’s why if there is a match outside the city, it’s polite. The sequence is like this,” he explained.

Compensation

Asked about compensation for the impact of the riots and compensation for the victims who died, Gibran said that the Persis management would later take care of it. The mayor of Solo promised to continue to coordinate with the management of the football club.

According to Gibran, further anticipation efforts for Persis matches outside the city or across regions will be managed by the Regional Police Chief and coordinate with Persis management. As reported, the brawl in Jogja occurred when Persis Solo fans wanted to watch their favorite team’s match in Magelang, Monday (25/7/2022).

At that time, Persis competed against Dewa United. Persis supporters traveled to Magelang by motorbike convoy through the city of Jogja. In the video circulating, this Solo supporter stopped at Tugu Jogja and delivered provocative words.

In addition, this supporter also lit fireworks several times in the Tugu Jogja area. Fights between supporters can not be avoided. Even brawls took place in the Gejayan area, Jl Solo, up to Jl Magelang, and in the Jombor Flyover area.

Information from the police stated that this brawl occurred because of provocation from the two groups of supporters.
