Martinican Judokas Shine at Alençon National Youth Open: Promising Futures Ahead

5 young Martinican judokas participated this Saturday, April 27 in the Alençon National Youth Open. This competition, which brings together nearly 500 junior and junior judokas from all over France, was a great success.

The Martinican representatives licensed at the Judo Club Shin Ghi Taï du Saint-Esprit (Bastian Baldara, Thomas Mucret, Djemael Fontaine, Noha Adrassé) and at EDAM Ducos (Fabien Mencé) achieved honorable performances for a first participation at this level.

Great prospects

Roger Baldara, the accompanisttakes stock of this experience.

We have worthily represented Martinican judo. We come away from this competition with a lot of pride. Because many coaches came to see us and congratulated us on the technical quality of our athletes. They also noticed and were surprised by the children’s good ground level. It’s nice, the work pays off

He also considers prospects for the future.

We plan to put more emphasis on our youngest children, to open up mass training in a structured manner to the best young people 2 and plan 2 tournaments of this type outside

For the delegation, the experience is, in any case, extremely positive for the young people “who learned a lot during these different oppositions”.
