Slovenian Vincic leads Champions League final – sport.ORF.at

Slovenian referee Slavko Vincic will officiate the Champions League final between Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid on June 1st (9 p.m.) at Wembley Stadium in London. The UEFA Referees Committee announced this on Monday.

The 44-year-old, who will also be in action at the European Championships in Germany, had already refereed the quarter-final second leg between BVB and Atletico Madrid (4:2). It is his second UEFA club final, after he had already refereed the 2021 Europa League final between Eintracht Frankfurt and Glasgow Rangers, which Frankfurt won on penalties.

Romanian Istvan Kovacs will take charge of the Europa League final between German champions Bayer Leverkusen and Atalanta Bergamo. The game will take place on May 22nd (9 p.m.) in Dublin. The 39-year-old Kovacs is also at the European Championships, and for him it is also the second final in a club competition.

The final game in the Conference League between Olympiacos Piraeus and AC Fiorentina on May 29th (9 p.m.) in Athens will be chaired by the Portuguese Artur Soares Dias. England’s Rebecca Welch will referee the women’s Champions League final on May 25 (6 p.m.) in Bilbao, where FC Barcelona and Olympique Lyon meet.
