Real Madrid started the new LaLiga season on Sunday evening with a narrow victory. The team of coach Carlo Ancelotti created plenty of opportunities to visit Almería, but was only able to turn an early deficit after the break: 1-2. David Alaba was cold in the field and eventually became the match winner as a substitute with a nice free kick.

While Ancelotti still opted for his trusted midfield, consisting of Luka Modric, Casemiro and Toni Kroos, during the won battle for the Super Cup against Eintracht Frankfurt, he decided to put the first two on the bench against Almería in favor of Eduardo Camavinga and Aurélien Tchouameni. . The Italian coach made three other changes in his starting team. Nacho Fernández, Antonio Rüdiger and Lucas Vázquez also started from the first whistle during the opening of Real’s new LaLiga season.

The Royal made his intentions clear in the opening phase, as Almería was immediately ordered to defend. The home team, on the other hand, unexpectedly took the lead early in the game. The surprising lead for the PhD student was a fact from a counter. Íñigo Eguaras cleverly placed the ball behind Real’s defense, after which Largie Ramazani remained cool face to face with Thibaut Courtois: 1-1. Real then created a series of opportunities, but still faced a deficit at half-time. Karim Benzema fired many sharps last season, but he missed the greatest opportunity by shooting a cross from Vinicius Júnior over the goal.

Vázquez thought Real would shoot next to Almería on the stroke of half-time, but saw his goal disallowed on the pass of Kroos due to offside. In the second act little changed in the game image. Ancelotti’s team was lord and master, although the visitors were unable to express their dominance in goals for a long time. However, the equalizer was inevitable and with an hour on the clock, Real came alongside deservedly. The ball fell at the feet of Vázquez after a scrimmage, who this time saw no line being put through his goal. The tired home team tried to defend the draw tooth and nail. Substitute Alaba was less than a minute in the field, when he gave Real the victory fifteen minutes before the end. The defender beautifully shot a free kick from about twenty meters in through the inside of the post: 1-2.
