Franchi’s match between Fiorentina and Napoli ends 2-2. The Viola went behind due to Rrhamani’s goal, recovered with captain Biraghi, overturned the result with Nzola but were then caught again in the second half by Kvaratskhelia. A draw that allows Fiorentina to maintain eighth place in the standings (for now the one valid for playing in the Conference League) which will compete with Napoli until the end, today two points behind the Tuscans.
The Italian recovers Bonaventura in the middle of the pitch while he prefers Nzola to Belotti at the center of the attack. Calzona for his Napoli, however, had to give up Di Lorenzo at the end due to gastroenteritis, with Mazzocchi replacing him. In attack, former Viola player Simeone replaces the unavailable Osimhen. Eight minutes and Napoli took the lead: corner kick from the left kicked by Politano in the middle of the purple area where Rrhamani moved Quarta and then headed it in without any problems. In the first part of the first half, above all, Napoli and Fiorentina were in difficulty, the guests attacking from right to left, with attacks on the outside by Kvaratskhelia and Politano. The Georgian tried on two occasions, with shots from outside the area, to beat Terracciano but the ball always ended up high over the crossbar.
Fiorentina’s reaction came in the 25th minute with a lunge from Beltran on the right who shot towards goal as soon as he entered the Napoli area but Meret saved without problems. Italiano’s team tries to take the initiative, even if it often proves too cumbersome, while Napoli, when they succeed, try to hurt by restarting quickly. And in the 40th minute the Italian team equalizes with Biraghi who takes a free kick from the edge of the area, which comes from Lobotka’s touch, in a masterful way with the ball going over the barrier and touching the inside of the crossbar before finishing inside the goal with Meret remaining stationary on the goal line. A goal that galvanizes Fiorentina who, two minutes later, overturns the result with Nzola: outside the area on the right, the Viola center forward recovers the ball, after an erroneous pass by Politano, he enters the visitors’ area and with a sharp diagonal pass, between two players from the Napoli, directs the ball to the far post where Meret can’t reach it.
At the start of the second half the two coaches do not change their respective starting eleven. And Napoli, upon returning from the changing rooms, had two opportunities to equalise, first with a cross-shot from Mazzocchi which became an assist for Kvaratskhelia, whose volley ended high; then in the 51st minute with another cross from Mazzocchi, Simeone deflects his header almost to the back line and Terracciano manages as best he can. The ball lands on the head of Cajuste who puts it high over the crossbar. And in the 57th minute Napoli equalized with a great free-kick, a brushstroke, by Kvaratskhelia who beat Terracciano from long range. Napoli came close to scoring the third goal in the 62nd minute with a sharp low shot from Politano which however hit the post to the left of Terracciano. The Italian tries to take cover by changing the attack above all by inserting Belotti and Ikone for Nzola and Kouame. The Viola try, even if with little conviction and are dangerous (75′) with an angled free kick from outside the area by Gonzalez, Meret touches just enough to deflect the ball into a corner. In the 76th minute Calzona brought on Raspadori for Simeone and Ngonge for Politano. On the other hand, Italiano responds by inserting Parisi and Mandragora for captain Biraghi and Beltran. But the result remains set at 2-2.
