Following the announcement that his retirement from tennis is forthcoming, below we break down what are the tournaments where the participation of Serena Williams is confirmed. The goodbye tour would include at least three tournaments, including the US Open that starts at the end of August.
The winner of 23 Grand Slams is playing the Canadian Open. She posted a solid victory in their first round match, in just her second singles draw in a year and after Wimbledon, and this Wednesday she will face Switzerland’s Belinda Bencic. Since she made her debut at this tournament in 2000 where she reached the final, Serena Williams has won the WTA 1000 tournament three times, all three in Toronto.
On Sunday the activity ends in Canadian territory and immediately starts the Cincinnatii Masters 1000, which runs from August 13 to 21. The last Grand Slam of the year takes place between August 29 and September 11with the women’s final scheduled for the 10th of the same month.
