“Place à l’été” in Saint Rémy: the Country Vine and the Country Chalonnais made the San Rémois dance on Monday evening August 8th.

To open this week on the theme of North America, Country Vine and Country Chalonnais were the guests of this Monday evening of “Place à l’été” in Saint Rémy.

On the theme of North America, this Monday, the children were able to enjoy the inflatable Ranch in addition to the water jets in the town hall square. When the doors opened at 10:00 a.m., the judo club held demonstrations and introduced judo to children and teenagers. In the afternoon, the Boxing Club San-Rémois took over.

“Place à l’été”, this Monday was also the time for the children to do a bit of rodeo on the back of the mechanical bull.

There’s nothing like going under the jets to cool off, the water games are always popular with children, or at the glacier stand.

At 6:00 p.m., the Country Vine association and the Tétra group (singing part of the Country Chalonnais association) opened the show with a few country dances, enhanced or not with songs, just to put the public in the American atmosphere. Under the pergola and misters, the 12 dancers from Country Vine, accompanied by the songs of Cathy, Mary, Fred and Denis, showed different forms of country dances; demonstrations followed by introductory sessions with a very enthusiastic and very attentive public, learning very quickly the Step, the Touch, the Heel, the Vine, etc…, these steps shown successively by the animators Catherine, Mylène, Carine and Nathalie du CountryVine.

During this introduction to country dancing, beginners were surrounded by followers of this type of dance, some of whom were part of country associations and members of Country Vine.

The San Rémois Tétra group, with their songs, brought a nice touch of color to the Country Vine dances.

The two vice-queens of the Chalon carnival, Adélaïde Delèglise, from Saint-Rémy (1st vice-queen) and Honorine Vincent, from the Plateau Saint-Jean committee (2nd vice-queen) honored the two country associations with their presence and their participation in these initiation sessions.

As all good things come to an end, when the show was over, the audience left. It was 8:00 p.m., “Place à l’été” closed its doors. Allane and Tom, the two seasonal workers hired for these 6 weeks, went into action to put away the equipment they had installed before the public arrived and clean the place. During the day, they are present to inform people, take registrations for certain activities, do surveillance…

The impressions collected from the public at the end of this country animation: “ it was super catchy, we would have danced a little more but it’s time. The lack of presence of elected officials at this Country Vine performance is regrettable, as is the lack of sale of drinks, especially in this heat, and the lack of toilets which would be very useful. confided to us a spectator at the exit of the square.

The public spent an excellent evening to the rhythm of Western dances from North America and “Place à l’été” continues until Thursday, August 18. Next week’s theme will be Oceania.

Country Vine resumes classes on Monday September 16 at 8:30 p.m. in the Salle Brassens.
