Luka Brajkovic is out of the NBA draft

Luka Brajkovic did not get a chance at the NBA draft in New York on Friday night. However, he didn’t want to “hang his head,” reacted the Vorarlberger, who had only been granted outsider chances anyway.

The next goal is the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas (July 7-17), the power forward said. He hopes that he “can make himself attractive for a contract” there. The Orlando Magic picked Paolo Banchero as their number one pick.

Somewhat surprisingly, the 19-year-old forward from Duke University was called up as the first college player, experts had rather expected the 2.13-meter giant Chet Holmgren or Jabari Smith. The former went to Oklahoma City Thunder as number two, the latter to the Houston Rockets as number three. “I can’t believe what just happened,” said Banchero, whose first well-wisher was his mother, Rhonda Smith-Banchero, a former WNBA player.
