Liverpool FC: Jürgen Klopp – “Stupid question!” Reds coach buttons reporter | Sports

Don’t mess with Klopp!

Jürgen Klopp was upset by a reporter’s question about a possible weakness at the start of Liverpool FC.

That’s a “stupid question,” said the German coach at a press conference ahead of the Reds’ second division game Monday against Crystal Palace.

And then straight to the journalist: “I don’t like it when you find something in the statistics or anywhere else and come here and tell me like it’s the truth. That’s not it. If the truth were that simple, my life would be a lot easier. That would be really cool.”

Klopp was particularly cross that the questioner tried to draw a parallel to the previous season. Since Liverpool had four draws in the first eleven games and also caught the only defeat of the season. One reason why an almost flawless season in the championship race with ManCity from January was not enough for the title in the end.

“You can’t compare that,” said Klopp, visibly pissed off. “You can’t be superior in all phases of the game. You’ve got 64 games and you’re kind of fighting your way through it.”

Liverpool had a poor performance on the first day of the new season in the Premiere League at promoted FC Fulham and had not gotten more than 2-2.

On Monday, the clouds of anger over Klopp should fly away with the home premiere against Crystal Palace.
