‘I think Taylor at the ball could well become the missing link’

Kenneth Taylor is the only Ajax player to be included in the Team of the Week of The Telegraph. Mario Been is the rapporteur and is pleased with how the twenty-year-old Ajax player showed himself in the second half. The former trainer of Feyenoord and NEC, among others, thinks that Taylor can still become an important player in the first team this season.

Daley Blind started Saturday against Fortuna Sittard (2-3 win) as the most controlling midfielder, but he was not satisfied. The experienced Ajax player dropped one line after the break and Taylor replaced him as ‘number 6’, to the satisfaction of Been. ‘Kenneth Taylor brought peace and harmony to Ajax’s football against Fortuna Sittard in the second half’, it sounds positive. ‘I like to see that, at that age.’

According to Been, Taylor could be an easy ‘victim’ if things don’t go well. Just because of his age. He sees a major role for the two-legged midfielder. ‘I think he could be the missing link in this team at the ball.’

‘Afterwards I saw that my name was everywhere’

Taylor himself was directly involved in the equalizer, right after the break. A pass from him was just tapped by Davy Klaassen. “Davy really wanted that goal and I also thought he made it 1-1. But afterwards I saw that my name was everywhere,” Taylor said The Telegraph.
