Arsenal host Leicester City in the Premier League. Competing at the Emirates Stadium, Saturday (13/8/2022) night WIB, London Cannon led 2-0 in the first round.
Arsenal tried to press first early in the game. There was an opportunity, but the pace of the ball that was released by Martin Odegaard into the penalty box was still very heavy.
Leicester almost tore Arsenal’s goal in the third minute. Wesley Fofan was able to get into the opponent’s box after making a combination of passes, close range shots were released, but Aaron Ramsdale was able to hold the ball.
The threat from Arsenal came in the 10th minute. Gabriel Jesus’ header in an attempt to snatch Gabriel Martinelli’s shot was still narrowly wide on the side of the goal.
Bukayo Saka sent a cross to the far post in the 19th minute. There was Garanit Xhaka who appeared to welcome with a header, but the ball still hit the post.
Arsenal took the lead in the 23rd minute through Gabriel Jesus. The former Manchester City player scored after being surrounded by opponents in the penalty box and then immediately fired a measured shot at the far post.
Gabriel Jesus increased Arsenal’s advantage to 2-0 in the 35th minute. He easily headed the ball at the far post through a corner kick scheme.
Jesus almost scored a hat-trick in the 37th minute. He had managed to escape from the opponent’s convoy, then faced one on one with the goalkeeper. Jesus released the ball from close range and Danny Ward’s feet could still thwart.
Jesus again almost tore the Leicester goal in the 40th minute. The ball shot from close range can still be pushed over by the goalkeeper.
There were no additional goals until halftime. Arsenal lead 2-0 over Leicester.
