European Athletics Championships: allowed to appeal, Turkey joins France in the relay final

This is the beautiful image of this Friday morning. Turkey qualified for the 4 x 100m final at the European Athletics Championships in Munich, at the expense of Italy. Embarrassed during his series, torchbearer Ertan Ozcan was authorized by the organization to use his 100m alone. Turkey retroactively finished with a better time (38′’98) than that of the Italians (39′’02) and therefore made it to the final by 4 hundredths. Italy, Olympic champion in the discipline, is eliminated after the appeal of the Turks.

The French, Méba-Mickaël Zeze, Pablo Mateo, Ryan Zeze and Jimmy Vicaut, also qualified for the final (this Sunday at 9:12 p.m.) with the second best time in the semi-finals (38′’17) and will try to clinch a medal to forget the frustration of the Eugene Worlds in July, where the French team was disqualified for bad relay transmission. The French 4 x 100 m women’s relay also qualified for the final (Sunday, 9:22 p.m.) by winning its series (43′’24).
