Borussia Dortmund: BVB shares rose significantly after reaching the final of the Champions League

The value of Borussia Dortmund shares rose noticeably after the club reached the final of the UEFA Champions League. With a value of 4.35 euros, the shares increased by around ten percent. However, this means that BVB shares are still far below their stock market debut in 2000, when they were traded for eleven euros.

On Tuesday, Borussia Dortmund made it into the final for the first time since 2013 with a 1-0 win against Paris Saint-Germain. The club can now expect additional UEFA prize money payments of at least 15.5 million euros, said analyst Philipp Sennewald from the financial information platform Nuways. However, it cannot be assumed that BVB will win the competition and can therefore expect further income, he said.

Borussia Dortmund will face the winner of the game Real Madrid against Bayern Munich in the final. However, if the club were to win the final on June 1st, according to Sennewald, they could expect additional bonus payments of 4.5 million euros and at least 3.5 million for participation in the UEFA Super Cup.

In 2013, BVB lost 2-1 to FC Bayern Munich in the final at Wembley Stadium in London. After reaching the semi-finals, Borussia Dortmund raised its profit target and promised a surplus of 33 to 43 (previous year: 9.6) million euros.
