Monlet. Castle in celebration. Two cultural events will take place on Friday August 19 and Saturday August 20 in the castle of the town, abandoned for almost 50 years and bought in 2020. It is being renovated to eventually become a cultural place.
Friday August 19, from 8:30 p.m., a “Jazz at the castle” evening will be offered by an eclectic jazz artist, Gérard Pouzet, whose influences range from Duke Ellington to McCoy Tyner.
Saturday August 20 , young and old alike will be able to meet from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. around the “castle in celebration”, as various workshops and medieval events will be offered free of charge. Storytelling, calligraphy, archery, dancing… will allow everyone to immerse themselves in the heart of the Middle Ages and discover life in the time of the knights. Finally, at 8:45 p.m., on the Place de la Maison Forte, a theatrical sound and light show entitled The Awakening of the Castle will revive the year of grace 1361 in the middle of the Hundred Years War. This exceptional evening will end with a convivial shared moment.
