These Haller photos give hope

He’s fighting cancer.

BVB new signing Sébastien Haller (28/came from Ajax Amsterdam for 31 million euros) has returned to light training after suffering from a testicular tumor.

On Instagram, his wife Priscilla shows how he works in his own weight room at home for the first time since the horror diagnosis in July, doing exercises in BVB clothes.

Nevertheless, one thing is clear: Haller will miss at least the entire first half of the Bundesliga season and will not be able to play competitive games for Dortmund until the new year at the earliest.

The striker is currently undergoing chemotherapy, which has already had a noticeable impact. The Ivorian is bald in the pictures and has probably already lost his hair.

In mid-July, the newcomer had to leave the training camp in Bad Ragaz (Switzerland) early because of the shock news. The club previously announced that Haller had complained of being unwell ahead of a friendly against Valencia (1-3) and was therefore absent. Instead, he was examined and the tumor was found.

At the beginning of August, BVB announced that Haller would have to undergo chemotherapeutic treatment and would be out for months. Haller himself had been waiting for the diagnosis with his family.

Sports director Sebastian Kehl (42) said at the time: “Sébastien will now receive the best possible treatment. The chances of recovery are very good. We wish him and his family a lot of strength and optimism and our thoughts are with him at this difficult time.”
