Bundesliga: Lustenau is looking forward to the Salzburg premiere

After the derby win against Altach last week, the hosts are bursting with self-confidence. “I don’t want to brake euphoria at all,” Mader stated. His team started the season with three wins, one draw and just one loss. Most recently, Altach was defeated 2-1, so they are in third place in the table like no other climber in nine years.

The people of Lustenau don’t want to resist the hype this has sparked in the country. “The players also need a certain amount of euphoria. But on the other hand, we already know where we come from and where we have to classify ourselves,” said Mader. Because in football things can happen very quickly. “In three or four weeks it can look completely different again in tabular form. If you start talking about final placements after five rounds, I think that’s completely exaggerated,” said the coach.

Lustenau-Salzburg

Lustenau, Reichshof Stadium, SR Ebner

Possible lineups:

Lustenau: Schierl – Gmeiner, Maak, Hugonet, Guenouche – Türkmen, Grabher – Anderson, Surdanovic, Cheukoua – Teixeira

Salzburg: Köhn – Dedic, Solet, Pavlovic, Wöber – Capaldo, Seiwald, Sucic, Kjaergaard – Sesko, Fernando

“Start the game well”

“That’s why it was so important that we didn’t celebrate the win against Altach for too long, but that we really focused on the Saturday game.” That was done well. Physically, Lustenau is “on a very high level”, as the previous games have shown.

With Salzburg, the strongest opponent so far from the starting position comes to Vorarlberg. “Basically, it’s definitely about starting the game well right from the start, just like we did well against Altach,” explained Mader. “Then we need extreme passion and mentality in the game again, with and against the ball.”

“You are right up there”

Salzburg coach Matthias Jaissle said Austria Lustenau’s lightning start did not surprise him. “They’re doing very well, they’re right up there,” said the German, whose team has only picked up two points so far. “It’s a top game, second against third. As always, we are fully focused, well prepared and want to take the three points home with us,” Jaissle clarified. Red Bull’s predecessor club Austria Salzburg last met Austria Lustenau in May 2000, when Salzburg won 2-0.

Last Sunday Salzburg deservedly won 2-0 against Austria Klagenfurt. It was the third win in a row. “So the development is right. We want to build on that against Lustenau and expand our small series,” explained Jaissle.

Hartberg and Ried urgently need points

In the game between Egger Glas Hartberg and Guntamatic Ried (5:00 p.m.), two teams whose results have been weakening recently meet. Both have been waiting for a complete success for three games and find themselves in the table cellar. There are no favorites in this game. The Styrians, who have not won against Ried in the Bundesliga so far, had two weeks to prepare for this duel – which is possibly a small advantage.

Start 5 p.m.:

Hartberg – Ried

Hartberg, Profertil Arena, SR Kijas

Possible lineups:

Hartberg: Farkas, Steinwender, Sonnleitner, Kofler – Kainz, Heil, Fadinger – Aydin, Tadic, Paintsil

Ried: Ried: Sahin-Radlinger – Ungar, Lackner, Platovic – Wiessmeier, Martin, Ziegl, Pomer – Nutz, Monschein, Mikic

Hartberg is currently in the penultimate place in the table with a game in hand. After the opening victory over Altach, it has recently suffered three defeats in a row. According to coach Klaus Schmidt, the atmosphere in the team is still good. He was positive about the duel with Ried: “We’ve had two weeks to put our crown back on our feet, and we’ll be ready on Saturday.”

During the two-week break from competitive games, which was caused by the postponement of the duel with European Cup starter Rapid, Schmidt primarily tried to work on the defensive. “Our goal was to stabilize the defense because we simply allowed too many big chances. But we also worked a lot in terms of physical fitness,” explained the coach.

Guests are confident

Ried also had a mixed start to the new season, in a duel with Hartberg the second win should come. Coach Christian Heinle was quite optimistic: “We can do everything in this game. We now want to convert our performance into points.” He doesn’t see any favorites in this game, he expects an opponent on an equal footing.

In order to make the guest appearance in Styria a success, Ried has to build on the good performance of the previous week. Heinle only complained about the efficiency in front of goal and the lack of luck in the game. “The defeat against Tyrol was incredibly bitter. We delivered a very good game, but the course of the game was extremely unfavorable.”
