In the opening ceremony on the morning of the 2nd, mysterious guests were invited to the former baseball star Zheng Dahong and the secondary professional striker Zhang Zhengwei to enjoy the stadium experience and teach the children that teamwork and attitude are far more important than ball skills. The opening ceremony was attended by Cai Qichang, President of the Chinese Major League Baseball and Vice President of the Legislative Yuan. The baseball camp team is divided into two groups, the Lele group “Junior Primary One to Junior Three”, and the formal group “Primary Four to Quasi National One”. The junior coaches of each group of the camp team recruited the 2014 and 2015 U.S. World Junior Baseball Championship (LLB) champions and the Zhongshan Junior High School senior brothers who won the right of representation again this year to guide the children into the baseball world.
Zhang Liao Wanjian, who has long been committed to the development of grassroots baseball in Taichung, assisted Xiyuan High School in the establishment of the youth baseball and baseball teams in 1999. When serving as a legislator, he also assisted football, basketball, inline hockey and other sports to win professional stadiums and field repair funds. , and promote the sports industry development regulations in the Legislative Yuan to protect the rights and interests of athletes.
Zhang Liao Wanjian revealed that the Zhongshan Junior High School players who served as junior coaches will represent Taiwan in the United States on August 14 to participate in the 2022 World Junior Baseball World Championship hosted by the World Junior Baseball League (LLB), hoping that they will bring the championship back to Taiwan.
Cai Qichang pointed out that he has fulfilled his promise when he took over as president, and successfully won the sixth team of the secondary vocational school, and will start to join the competition next year.
