The Blaugrana club wants to place the winger this summer because he is not quite convincing and there are serious options for him to leave on loan or transferred. Barça is already negotiating his exit with Manchester United, for which 20 million euros have been requested. The English club wants to lower that figure and has offered the Portuguese international Diogo Dalot to lower the price, but in principle the operation would only be of interest if there is a pure and simple sale.
United’s interest in Dest is not new, as they inquired about him during negotiations to sign Frenkie de Jong. The coach of the English team, Erik Ten Hag, wants the American to occupy the right lane and in recent hours contacts have intensified. But the English club must release one of its full-backs and, for this reason, it has put Dalot on the market.
Barça’s intention is to put an end to this issue starting next week. Because Dest is a player with a large market and Chelsea could also position themselves in a bid. Despite having renewed Azpilicueta, the English club wants to sign another right-winger and has Josip Juranovic, from Celtic Glasgow, on his agenda, although he does not lose sight of Dest. In the Blaugrana club there is a feeling that a good sale can be made.
If Dest ends up leaving, Barça plans to sign a right-back for sure. Xavi wants a player with experience and several names are being studied for a low but solvent investment. Dest, for now, does not want to leave, although everything will depend on what the technicians tell him and the proposals he has on the table. He knows that at Barça he might not have too many minutes and he is not interested in stagnating either.
