7 of 7 finals: the biggest milestone in history

It is undoubtedly the greatest milestone in the history of our training basketball. The victory of Spain this Friday in the semifinal of the U16 Men’s European Championship over France means not only the seventh medal of 2022 but also the seventh final in the 7 championships played.

The victory of Spain this Friday in the semifinal of the U16 Men’s European Championship over France means not only the seventh training medal of 2022 but also the seventh final in the 7 championships played. A plenary session that is without a doubt the greatest milestone in the history of Spanish youth basketball. With the circumstance that two of those silvers have corresponded to World Cups, one male and one female, a success that was also unprecedented.

Of the 7 medals, 4 correspond to the men’s teams and the other three to the women’s, in the four categories that have participated in official competition: U20, U18, U17 and U16.

In the Men’s U16 European Championship, which will conclude this Saturday in Skopje (Macedonia), the team led by Ángel González Jareño will face Lithuania in the final for gold, which has defeated Greece in the other semifinal (77-61).

Of the previous 6, our teams have won 3, and the other three have brought respective silver medals.

After this Men’s U16 European Championship, Spain will have an opportunity to make this summer 2022 even more historic, at the Women’s U16 European Championship that started this Friday in Matosinhos (Portugal).
