2nd league: Horn unexpectedly new leader

Two points behind are newly promoted Vienna and SKN St. Pölten, who drew 1-1 in the stadium on the Hohe Warte. SKU Amstetten also holds seven points after a 1-1 draw against Admira in another big game.

After a 2-1 win over Sturm Graz II and a 1-0 win in Kapfenberg, Horn also had their third win by just one goal. Fally Mayulu (33′) gave the visitors the lead as planned with a shot from the edge of the penalty area into the far corner. After the restart, however, the home side stepped up a gear and managed to turn things around. First Albin Gashi (53rd) equalised, then Patrik Mijic (87th) advanced to the match winner.

St. Pölten saves a draw at Vienna

The Vienna advanced early against the previous leader St. Pölten, the ex-Rapidler Stephan Auer (19th) hit the corner after preparatory work by Bernhard Luxbacher. After the change of sides, Luis Hartwig (77th) equalized and thus gave the Viennese their first goal in the league.

After that, the winning goal for St. Pölten was in the air, but in the finish the ex-SKN striker Deni Alar, who had just been substituted on, could have ensured a Vienna victory, but failed on the pole. In the end, it remained a performance-based draw.

There was also no winner in the Lower Austria duel between Amstetten and Admira. The hosts went in front through ex-Rapid striker Dominik Starkl (57th), Martin Krienzer (59th) immediately equalized. The southern townspeople now hold four points.

Young Violets and Kapfenberg still without a win

The Young Violets Austria Vienna and Kapfenberg are still without a win after a thrilling 2:2 in the Generali Arena. Despite a yellow-red card for 1-0 goalscorer Sekou Sylla (79th), the Styrians still managed to win a point at the beginning of injury time thanks to a converted penalty by Christoph Pichorner. It was the first for the penultimate, the Young Violets hold at two points.
