Tournefeuille. The archery complex, finally inaugurated

Even if the construction had been completed since 2020 and the Compagnie d’Archers du Touch (the Tournefeuille club) had already taken possession of the premises for more than six months, it was only this Saturday, June 25 that the official inauguration of the complex held. Under a beautiful sun, many members of the club and other curious people came to learn about the practice in the company of the actors invested in this project, and without whom nothing would have been possible.

Since 1989, the club has welcomed beginners as well as experienced archers, young and old, in order to offer archery practice in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Also, for a few months, the Company has said goodbye to the green belt of the Touch to come and settle on the edge of the Ramée, on the Chemin du Prat, in magnificent state-of-the-art facilities.

“Always train more”

“It’s important to finally be able to thank all those who helped us make this project a reality. I’m thinking of the dedicated volunteers, the Federation, the Departmental Council, and of course the municipality. Now we have to take a step forward. We We currently have 120 members, we can hardly do more at the moment because of the configuration of the club, but this complex is an opportunity to create a real enthusiasm around this practice” explains Patrick Fiorio, the president of the club. The Mayor of Tournefeuille, Dominique Fouchier, also made a point of recalling the intentions of his teams in terms of sports policy. “It was important to us to contribute to the further development of sport in the municipality. We had to give all the means and tools necessary for archery so that it continues to grow and establish itself. Our wish it is that the discipline is also part of this good dynamic” he welcomes. Now the objective is clear, since in the long term it will be a question of training more and more and democratizing this sport, to perhaps discover talented young archers who will become the champions of tomorrow.
