The trade with the Cavs that would solve Irving’s problem

The transfer of Kevin Durant before the start of the 2022/23 season is a priority for Brooklyn Nets Today. After finalizing the negotiations with the Los Angeles Lakers to be able to exchange Kyrie Irving (the other player who wants out), the New York franchise’s priority is to at least get KD out.

However, all is not lost for the Nets in their quest to trade Irving. This is explained by the Fadeaway World journalist, Lee Tran, in one of his last articles. taking advantage of that Cleveland Cavaliers has not yet reached an extension agreement with Collin Sexton (restricted free agent), a ‘Sign & Trade’ would solve Brooklyn’s problems.

In addition, there would be the return of Kyrie Irving to Cleveland, a franchise in which, although he was of crucial importance in winning the 2016 ring, the player always felt overshadowed by the figure of LeBron James. The hypothetical transfer would be as follows:

  • Cleveland Cavaliers recibe a: Kyrie Irving.
  • Brooklyn Nets receive: Collin Sexton (‘Sign & Trade’), Cedi Osman and the 1st round of the 2025 Draft from the Cavs.

A very threatening template

This movement would allow the Cavaliers to achieve their objective of extracting valuable cash for a Sexton they want to renew so as not to lose for anything in return. Also, it would leave Cleveland as one of the strongest teams in the Eastern Conference:

  • Starting Five: Kyrie Irving, Darius Garland, Caris LeVert, Evan Mobley, Jarrett Allen.
  • Substitutes: Ricky Rubio, Isaac Okoro, Lauri Markkanen, Kevin Love, Dean Wade, Robin Lopez…
