How does the NBA MVP celebrate the biggest contract ever?
In a noble club with expensive alcohol? In the finest restaurant in town? Not Nikola Jokic (27)!
Voted Most Valuable Player for the last two seasons, the Serb is celebrating with his mates back home.
And the center of the Denver Nuggets has reason to celebrate. At the beginning of July he agreed with his club on a new five-year contract. And will collect a whopping 264 million dollars (approx. 259 million euros) by 2028. A player has never been paid more in the NBA.
Now a video has appeared showing Jokic and his buddies in Serbia’s Tara National Park.
Shirtless, he dances around a fireplace. Folk music is playing in the background.
Serbian media write that Jokic and his boys went rafting before. And that not even the rain could spoil the mood of the party crew.
Jokic is not the average professional anyway. He accepted this year’s MVP award at home in front of his stables.
The German fans can also look forward to Jokic this summer. Should he survive the European Championship group phase in the Czech Republic with Serbia, he will play the knockout phase in Berlin from September 10th.
