NBA: Brooklyn Nets would require Scottie Barnes in any trade for Kevin Durant

If the Toronto Raptors intend to secure the services of Kevin Durant from the Brooklyn Nets, they will likely have to trade Scottie Barnes, the reigning NBA rookie, in return, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

“Brooklyn wouldn’t consider a deal without Scottie Barnes,” Wojnarowski told the show. Get Up.

Wojnarowski also reports that the Raptors have no intention of trading Barnes.

Durant, who is 33, reportedly asked the Nets to trade him at the end of June. The Phoenix Suns and Miami Heat would be his favorite destinations.

Durant averaged 29.9 points, 7.4 rebounds and 6.4 assists in 55 regular season games with the Nets last year. They were swept in the first round postseason by the Boston Celtics.

Barnes, just 20, averaged 15.3 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 74 games with the Raptors, earning him Rookie of the Year honors. .

Toronto selected Barnes fourth overall in the 2021 NBA Draft.
