End-of-season tournament recreationists with the photos

After 3 years it was finally time to organize a tournament. And as usual in July, that’s the end-of-season tournament. With about 50 participants it was again well occupied and the battle could start.

After the matches, the standings were made up by the players themselves. A total of 30 could also be added to the points in the bonus round. Everyone was allowed to serve 3x and try to place the shuttle within the “tram rails”. With 10 points per successful service you could increase the total number of points considerably.

In 8 rounds of 12 minutes you had to get as many points as possible. For the win 3, equal 2 and for a loss still 1 point. They went to extremes and it showed because no less than 3 players had to drop out with an injury.
The matches were divided as much as possible between the parties in terms of strength so that everyone had an equal chance. Tournament director Erik Boers has spent many hours preparing for the tournament and with a very nice result, given the compliments of the participants.

And thanks to the bonus round, some participants still climbed a lot and that turned out to be in favor of the prize winners. In the end, Ronald Schalk turned out to have collected the most points and Mathijs Dekker and Ashwin Asruf shared second place. Unfortunately, the number of points obtained was not enough for the 14-day holiday trip to the Maldives.

Afterwards we had a nice chat with a drink in the canteen at our neighbors of the Impact Boulderhal.
End of season but that doesn’t mean we can’t play badminton anymore.

During the summer holidays, this will still be possible twice a week on Monday and Friday evenings during the usual times (from 8 p.m.) and is only accessible to members.
