New call-up with the Italian Junior Judo National Team for Lorenzo Rossi who competed in Hungary, last Sunday, at the European Junior Cup in Paks. This call came at the end of a series of races carried out in 2022 and in which the athlete from Arma di Taggia reported excellent performances, awarded by as many medals:
– 20/03/2022 – Alpe Adria International Trophy in Lignano Sabbiadoro – 1st place
– 03/04/2022 – City of Colombo International Trophy in Genoa – 1st place
– 10/04/2022 – European Cup Juniores in Lignano Sabbiadoro – 3rd place
– 23/04/2022 – Italian Cup A2 National Final in Rome – 3rd place
– 14/05/2022 – National Final of the Italian Junior Championship in Rome – 1st place
Having earned the convocation in the team of the Italian National Juniores, the athlete competed in Paks (Hungary) at the European Junior Cup, a high-level competition that saw 380 athletes from 38 nations competing.
Unfortunately the desired result did not arrive, Lorenzo Rossi met a very strong Brazilian athlete who beat him in the first match, but who then did not recover him, thus denying him the possibility of continuing in the race.
The technicians who follow Lorenzo Rossi, M ° Ben.to Alberto Ferrigno and the Instructor Alessio Ferrigno, hoped for a better result, but recognize that these races, even if they do not end with medals, are still an exceptional experience because the athletes they compete with the best junior athletes in the world.
