Swiatek from Poland lost in the third round at Wimbledon against Alizé Cornet 4:6, 2:6. The defeat does not come as a complete surprise – it has to do with the base.

It was the first defeat for Iga Swiatek after winning 37 matches in a row. During this time, the 21-year-old won the titles in Qatar, Indian Wells, Miami, Stuttgart, Rome and in between two games in the Billie Jean King Cup. She suffered her last defeat in mid-February in Dubai against Latvian Jelena Ostapenko.
