FC Bayern: Column – That’s why Bayern must be scared and anxious – FC BAYERN MUNICH

“My Bayern” is the name of the column by SPORT BILD reporter legend Raimund Hinko, which deals with the German record champions. Hinko has been with Munich for decades.

Dear Hasan “Brazzo” Salihamidzic,

Now that the argument is raging everywhere, whether you are the greatest buyer of all time or whether you are simply doing a good job as a sports director at the moment – I try to behave neutrally in the following lines.

When the critics swooped down on you, to paraphrase the popular writer Erich Kästner (“the flying classroom”), you kept it from drinking the cocoa you were being sucked through. And so you are now at your peak smart enough not to put yourself on the same level as your great teacher or sponsor Uli Hoeneß.

Okay, let’s forget that you spent an overpriced 80 million euros for Lukas Hernandez in 2019 and an expensive 40 million for Dayot Upamecano a year ago. There are now the 70 for Matthijs de Ligt, the third defender in the league, certainly money well spent. All together definitely way too much.

We didn’t even need to discuss the 40 million for the striker Sadio Mané. Well done Brazzo. I really liked the last time this world-class man said: “What am I supposed to do with ten Ferraris, 20 diamond watches and two Learjets?” What would that do for me and the world? I was hungry, had to work in the fields in Senegal, had no education, played barefoot and I’m happy to be able to help the people there now.” What great education of the heart. It’s worth more than millions to have such a hungry player in the squad.

You certainly didn’t make any mistakes with the two Ajax players Ryan Gravenberch and Noussair Mazraoui, even if you have to wait and see whether they are Bayern-like, which there are good indications for.

However, my crest swells when a 17-year-old Frenchman, whom nobody knows, not even his own compatriot Kingsley Coman (he is anything but a loudmouth), is spoken of as if he were the legitimate successor to Robert Lewandowski. Especially since the boy costs 30 million euros.

30 for a 17 year old!! Okay, it’s fair to say that this Mathys Tel from Rennes, who has ZERO goals in the French league, is an investment in the future. Decency dictates that we first of all give him a warm welcome.

But why on earth do you have Joshua Zirkzee and especially Jamal Musiala in your own ranks? Great talents who have already shown and achieved a lot. Coach Julian Nagelsmann raved about Musiala after the 0-1 draw against Man City that he had played “brilliantly”. City coach Pep Guardiola went very far, speaking of “supersupersupersupermusiala.” Even world-class man Kevin de Bruyne faded away.

If something works out with Tel, dear Brazzo, I’ll award you the Oscar for the best buyer of all time. In any case, Mathys Tel is the lesser evil than the worn-out, completely overestimated penalty specialist Harry Kane, who keeps threateningly haunting Bayern wish lists. But where does coach Julian Nagelsmann get the courage from, he would have a vision that this Tel can score 40 goals like Lewandowski.

Well, let’s wait and see. Nagelsmann doesn’t have it easy anyway, because in the first year after Robert Lewandowski, more than just the championship is expected of him. Just that little word “ONLY”.

Anyone who saw Bayern, who of course can’t have played well, against ManCity in the USA – especially the defense – must be scared and anxious. Nagelsmann, however, must not be driven crazy now.

He has to go through his preparation consistently. Regardless of how weak the players might go into the Supercup game against cup winners Leipzig on Saturday. This game is more redundant than a goiter. Why only the word “super”?. And why is it taking place in Leipzig? If anyone is going to take it seriously, it would have to be played on neutral ground. Somewhere in between in Nuremberg or Frankfurt. Or maybe in Berlin too.

For Nagelsmann and his Bavarians it is important that they are in reasonable shape for the opening of the Bundesliga at Eintracht Frankfurt on the Friday after next. It doesn’t matter whether they win that ridiculous soup clown cup or not.

Leipzig’s ex-coach Nagelsmann will also see it that way. And you, dear Brazzo, anyway. Whatever – you bought well. And with a few exceptions it also sells well. One can say that much.
