Man, Jul 22, 2022 (AIP) – The Elephants judokas, Ehui Kablan Ariel (in the -55kg boys) and Bah Lou (in the +70 kg girls) were respectively crowned with the Bronze and Silver medals on Thursday 21 July 2022, at the opening of the African Cadet and Junior Judo Championships which take place from July 21 to 24, 2022 in Nairobi, Kenya.
In the + 70 kg girls, Ba Lou stalled in the final ahead of her opponent of the day, the Egyptian Soliman Safa by an ippon. She therefore consoles herself with the silver medal for her title of vice-champion.
In the boys -55 kg, Ehui Kablan Ariel beat Kenya Abio Kelvin by waza-ri in the bronze medal match.
For its participation in the present African Cadet and Junior Judo Championships (2022), Côte d’Ivoire does not take part in team competitions. She fielded athletes only individually and finished eighth out of 15 nations.
