Bundesliga: Tumor discovered in BVB newcomer Haller – Sport

A tumor has been discovered in the testicles of Sebastien Haller, a new signing from Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund. “This news was a shock for Sebastien Haller and for all of us. The entire BVB family wishes Sebastien that he will recover completely as soon as possible and that we can hug him again soon,” said sporting director Sebastian Kehl.

Haller complained about being unwell after training on Monday morning in Bad Ragaz, Switzerland. The tumor was discovered during intensive medical examinations during the course of the day. The 28-year-old has already traveled back to Dortmund. “We will do everything in our power to ensure that he receives the best possible treatment,” said Kehl. In the coming days, further examinations will take place in a specialized medical center.

Managing Director Hans-Joachim Watzke was also deeply affected. “Of course we are all in shock,” said the club boss: “Our thoughts are with Sebastien and his family. The most important thing now is that he gets well again.”

Just last week, Marco Richter from Hertha BSC was also diagnosed with a testicular tumor. As the Berlin Bundesliga team announced on Tuesday, the player needs an operation and is not available for training. At Eintracht Frankfurt, Haller played with Marco Russ, who was able to overcome his testicular cancer, which was diagnosed in 2016.
