The first real Bavarian working day started with queuing for Bavaria’s new superstar: at 10 a.m. sharp, Sadio Mané (30) stood in front of the US consulate to apply for a visa for Bavaria’s trip to the USA and greeted other people waiting in a friendly manner. Mané to BILD: “I’m doing great. I’m hot and excited for the first training session!”
At 2.16 p.m. he was driven up to Säbener Strasse in a bright red Audi.
At 3:59 p.m. the first game was played: Mané came out on the pitch in a white training shirt, followed shortly afterwards by trainer Julian Nagelsmann (34).
After a good 30 minutes of warm-up, Mané got to know Nagelsmann football for the first time: chasing the ball wildly, pressing, pressing, pressing. Made for the new star from Senegal: He knows that from Klopp from Liverpool…
Striking: Mané gives loud instructions in English, yells: “Change! Keep it! Together! Come on boys, come on!” Someone wants to take on responsibility right away!

When it comes to the tactics board, Mané leans casually on Kimmich’s shoulder. Assistant coach Dino Toppmöller translates the Nagelsmann words for Mané into French.
Even boss Oliver Kahn (53) took a look at the first Mané training session and said after the first impression when asked by BILD: “Outstanding!”
Incidentally, at 4:47 p.m. the time had come: Mané scored his first Bayern goal on one of the small training goals. At 5.10 p.m. he scored the first goal in the game on the big goals: a tight left-footed shot that youth keeper Schenk let slip through a bit. Shortly thereafter he put another shot into the corner, the fans behind the fence cheered. There was even a sensational goal by a hair’s breadth – but keeper Schenk saved Mané’s overhead kick.

At 5:43 p.m., after a few sweaty sprints across the whole field, Mané smiled cheerfully at the cameras with Nagelsmann and the other newcomers. After the first day of training, it’s already clear: Bayern will have a lot of fun with this lad.
