This Friday, July 15, the first sports academy was inaugurated in the Ciénega Region, it is the Basketball Academy, which will train girls and boys from Jamay in this sport; The initiative will be sponsored by the most important basketball team in the state, the Jalisco Astros.
In this regard, this was what the municipal president, César Molina, said:
“Today I am very proud to announce what will be the sports academy in Jamay, it is the basketball sports academy, which will be sponsored by the Astros de Jalisco team, who are the champions of the basketball league in our country.”
For his part, the CODE Municipal Sports Director, Gustavo Fong, spoke about the benefits that the sports academy will bring to Jamay:
“We bring you the news of opening the first academy in this region, the joint work that is done with CODE, with DIF, with social assistance, is to give better results, to get children off the streets, off the computer, Xbox, and get back to physical activity.”
The local deputy of the XV District, Juan Luis Aguilar García, promised to take the necessary steps to bring a second sports academy, which will be focused on boxing; while the municipal president also said that he will bring a baseball academy closer to the municipality.
The same day, a basketball academy was also inaugurated in Poncitlán, sponsored by the Jalisco Astros.
