These are days of excitement for Juan Pablo Pamberger, from Posad, because although he has been competing in nationals for two years, in two weeks he will be able to do so for nothing less than the title of Argentine archery champion, in sub 21 and in his land.

This place to go for the crown was won over the weekend in San Justo, Santa Fe, by consecrating himself as the best in the regional phase, coastal zone, in the Recurve modality in his category. But more is missing… the fight to be the best in the country could take place at home, since the national final will be held at Leandro N. Alem’s Club Germano Argentino from August 14 to 15.

In the tournament, the representative of Capri and the province increased his shots. “At first it was quite difficult,” he said with a laugh. And it is that although Juan Pablo has experience, he knew what was at stake was great and he had to recover from the pressure. “I had been nervous because it was the first time he was competing in a regional final. I have other tournaments on me, but it was a final, it was in a totally different club and in which I did not know anything or anyone. At the beginning, in the first three rounds, he couldn’t make the score that I’m used to because of nerves and once I got the rhythm, I got on track and was able to score more points”, explained the Posadeño.

And by way of reflection he threw “I had to go do what I always did just”

Already turning the page, the representative of Capri is already psyched up in the national event in the same indoor modality, in which the goalkeeper shoots the target with the date at a distance of 18 meters and adds points according to the proximity of the center of white.

“I hope I am given the opportunity to be Argentine champion in Misiones,” he reflected.

The representative of Capri, with the gold medal in the regional phase.

Being local has an extra plus in sporting and emotional matters. The grand final in two weeks in Alem promises to be of the highest level with the presence of the best classified in the country.

“We are super happy that this is going to be celebrated here, it is very good for the discipline, as well as for the visibility of Misiones at the country level. The province grew a lot in terms of players both in Capri and in the Missionary Archery Association”, assured Juan Pablo.

And he announced that this will be the first stop since he points to the next final “in the open air that will be December in Bahía Blanca”, already with an Olympic distance of 70 meters.

Pasito a pasito

Six years ago, Juan Pablo took his first shots in Capri and the passion became flesh of that boy who ceased to be a promise two years ago when his name began to be known in the nationals.

For the missionary, this growth was step by step, but this year he took an important leap. “There was an evolution on the part of my archery team, I also have a new bow and I feel that I also made a change in myself. I am calmer, the training is much more serious and with a stricter regimen, ”he shared.

And he feels he’s learned to “not get carried away with the shots that go wrong and condemn the rest of my shots; the one that goes wrong is one more shot and I try to correct the next ones. I also changed my way of seeing things, there is also a psychological game that has to be faced”.

In the ‘package’ of new measures that is imposed to improve, there is no doubt in the quantity and quality of hours that it grants to improvement.

“When I can’t go to the club, I train the technique at home in a space of 4 to 5 meters. I go to Capri three times a week and train four hours, which go by very quickly, and sometimes I even stay longer, but doing social things”, he laughs. Meanwhile, on weekends the time is complete at the club with the team.

At 18, Juan Pablo has not neglected his secondary studies either, he is in his fifth year at Janssen, and “I have to deal with that too, but I have the support of managers and teachers, they give me time to leave earlier and arrive on time. to the club”.

To conclude and when asked what the practice of this attractive sport generates for him, the missionary shared that “it is simply a sport that I like to do, one also de-stresses a lot doing it, but within that tranquility one has to manage a high concentration. I also like the perfection that you have to look for and the mind control.”
