9: 5 success in Backnang: Judoclub Leipzig defends the top of the table

On Saturday, the Saxons won 9:5 at table penultimate TSG Backnang and pushed back the series champion Abensberg (9:5 winner against Speyer), who had been in the lead a few minutes earlier, from first place.

“The first round went really well. We won almost all fights and fought for a great 6:1 lead,” said Emil Hennebach, who won the important first fight. Only René Kirsten lost in his comeback after an injury break to a top man from Hungary by a hair’s breadth after more than four minutes of extra time. Above all, the people of Leipzig praised their heavyweight Muhamad Dzhamalutdinov.
