The first coach of the American era at Standard is therefore called Ronny Deila. The 46-year-old Norwegian officially signed up on Monday (for two years) with Matricule 16, not hesitating to leave his post in New York City when he was at the top of the championship after thirteen games, even remaining on an impressive series of eight games without defeat (seven wins, one draw, twenty goals scored and four conceded).
This will be the third experience abroad for Deila, who has the distinction of having won a title in three of the four clubs he has coached (champion and Cup winner with Strømsgodset IF, double champion with Celtic and Scottish League Cup winner).
