This is how Eintracht Frankfurt reacts to the Hinteregger scandal – Bundesliga

Now Eintracht Frankfurt is speaking up about the Hinteregger cause!

Together with Heinrich Sickl, a well-known right-wing extremist from his native Austria, the defender organized the “Hinti-Cup” in Sirnitz/Carinthia next week.

A report by the journalist Michael Bonvalot made the subject of Hinteregger’s business relationship with Sickl. The Eintracht professional then broke off business relations, made a statement about the incident and distanced himself from Sickl.

How is Hinteregger’s club reacting now? Eintracht announced: “Eintracht Frankfurt had no knowledge of the content and form of Martin Hinteregger’s business relationships in connection with the so-called Hinti Cup, which the Frankfurt defender planned and organized completely independently and on his own. The business and legal proximity to a representative of the right-wing political spectrum in Austria that has now come to light requires clear distancing.”

And further: “Eintracht Frankfurt has no doubts that Martin Hinteregger is a character who is close to his homeland, but also cosmopolitan and tolerant, to whom discrimination is alien. Eintracht Frankfurt stands for tolerance, cosmopolitanism and internationality. This attitude has become a clear guiding principle of the club over the past few decades and is firmly rooted in the DNA of Frankfurt and the region. Whether in the professional teams, the youth teams or in the fan scene – variety and diversity are a non-negotiable basic principle at Eintracht Frankfurt.”

But then comes a passage that makes you sit up and take notice… Crazy: Eintracht Hinteregger couldn’t speak to the Sickl case all day. Therefore, the statement says: “Those responsible for the club have not yet reached Hinteregger, but have only been able to discuss the matter with his advisor. In this respect, only the reference to the player’s statement via Instagram remains at the moment.

Hinti had time for his own statement on Instagram. But none to speak to the club about his next serious misstep?

According to BILD information, it is becoming increasingly unlikely that Hinteregger will start the new season with Eintracht. The defender unfollowed the club on Instagram on Thursday…
