Table tennis. Tables, ticket office… The program of the French championships at Vendéspace .

The Vendéspace sports complex is hosting the French senior table tennis championships this weekend. Tables, program… Here is everything you need to know about the organization of the event.

The best French table tennis players met from Friday June 24 to Sunday June 26 at the Vendéspace in Mouilleron-le-Captif, near La Roche-sur-Yon, for the French senior table tennis championships.

The tables: changes in the organization of the championships

The Vendéspace in Mouilleron-le-Captif is hosting the event for the second time after the 2014 edition. For this 2022 edition, the French Table Tennis Federation and the organizers have made changes. 5 French champion titles are up for grabs this year. In particular, the men’s and women’s single tables go from 64 to 48 registered players. The 16 highest ranked senior table tennis players are directly qualified for the 16th finals of the competition, while the players placed from 17th to 48th place will have to go through a qualification phase to hope to integrate the final table. The matches are played by direct elimination, best of 7 sets (i.e. 4 winning sets).

As for the doubles competitions, 24 pairs are in contention in the men’s and women’s competitions, and 8 teams in the mixed doubles. These matches are played in the best of 5 rounds. In individuals, Simon Gauzy, for men, and Jia Nan Yuan, for women, both titled last year at Cesson-Sévigné, are the main contenders for their succession.
