Mischa Zverev exclusively after Alexander Zverev’s operation: “It’s really just the ligaments…”

Alexander Zverev reacted quickly.

Four days after the fatal slip in the French Open semi-finals, which led to the tearing of the three lateral ligaments in his right ankle, the Olympic champion underwent surgery in Munich.

In order to “regain full stability in my ankle, an operation was the best choice,” Zverev announced on his Instagram after the operation.

The third in the world rankings is doing very well “according to the circumstances, he immediately had a smile on his face and we called several times,” reports Mischa in the podcast conversation with Eurosport presenter Matthias Stach and expert Barbara Rittner.

“Sascha said: ‘Come over, I’m bored, let’s play Playstation’,” added the 34-year-old. A wish that, given the circumstances, can be seen as a positive signal.

Mischa jokes: Alex should build the Colosseum

It is not yet clear when the Olympic champion can leave the hospital. Brother Mischa expects “a few days”. Then Alexander could “come back home here to Monaco”.

Of course, tennis is still a long way off, although Mischa has already considered an alternative program. “He gave me a 9,000-piece Lego set when my second son was born. I think I’ll give it back to him because he now has enough time to build the Coliseum.”
