Mauricio Pochettino’s adventure on the Paris Saint-Germain bench is coming to an end. As expected for several months, the Parisian coach, despite a contract until June 2023, will take the door on this summer transfer window.
After several weeks without any news from his management, the Argentinian technician was finally contacted to put an end to his commitment with the French champion.
Agreement reached with Pochettino
And according to information from the regional daily Le Parisien on Tuesday, the leaders of PSG have reached an agreement with the lawyers of the former manager of Tottenham for the conditions of his departure with only final details to settle. The capital club now intends to mark the end of the story with Pochettino on Wednesday or Thursday with an official announcement expected before the end of the week.
Unsurprisingly, Paris will make a big check to put an end to the contracts of the Argentinian and his staff, who will leave with 15 to 20 million euros. Despite a title in Ligue 1 (2022) and victories in the Coupe de France (2021) then in the Trophee des Champions (2020), Pochettino’s passage in charge of the Ile-de-France team represents a disappointment with an inability to reach a milestone in the League Champions despite an XXL workforce.
Galtier still a favorite
To turn the page, PSG should very quickly announce the name of its successor. On this issue, a big favorite stands out: the current coach of OGC Nice Christophe Galtier, the number 1 choice of sports adviser Luis Campos.
