Las Termas welcomes the best golfers in South America

The Las Termas Open generates great expectations after two years of not being held due to the pandemic.

With great expectation and after two years of pandemic, the spectacular route of Robert Trent Jones II takes color again with the X Termas de Río Hondo Open.
This Tuesday afternoon the Pro Am award ceremony was held for amateurs and professionals with representatives from several Argentine provinces and also from other countries.

This tournament is part of the classic calendar of the Argentine Professional Golf Tour and will take place in the “Spa City” until June 18 at the Termas de Río Hondo Golf Club.

It should be noted that the three best players in the ranking of the Argentine Professional Golf Tour – Félix Córdoba, Maxi Godoy and César Costilla – will be present at this first level competition. Along with them there will be a Latin American presence including Colombians Jesús Amaya, with more than 80 victories, and Jesús Rivas, who has competed in the PGA TOUR Champions. In addition to players from Brazil, Uruguay and Paraguay.

The Argentine Clodomiro Carranza, champion of the last edition that was played in 2019, prior to the pandemic, will also be in the game. The Riocuartense also won this tournament in 2013.
On this occasion, in the Pro Am, more than one hundred players played the last day that left the team made up of Gustavo Acosta, Mauro Giuliani, Nicolás Rivarossa, Pablo Tessaro, Federico Volken as the winner.

The award ceremony was held by the captain and director, Juan Manuel Pereyra, president of the Argentine Tour of Professionals, César Monasterio.

Launch

Previously, the launch of the X Open was held at the Termas de Río Hondo Golf Club, where the captain and director Juan Manuel Pereyra was accompanied by Monasterio.
Pereyra welcomed the players and highlighted the growth of Las Termas de Río Hondo as a tourist destination and that this international event was key to the consolidation of golf in the city.

On the other hand, Monasterio highlighted the start of this new edition and added: “After the pandemic we knew that we were going to return to Las Termas, since it is one of our already traditional dates and we are happy to do it in this field that is increasingly recognized locally and internationally”.

This Wednesday, June 15, the first round will begin at 8. After 36 holes, the qualifying cut will be made to the best 35 players and the ties. Saturday will be the final round that will consecrate the open champion.
