Kick in? 5 minutes penalty time? The Netherlands wants to experiment with new rules in 2nd class | soccer Netherlands

In his column on the KNVB website, Jan Dirk van der Zee, director of amateur football, proposes some new rules.

A throw-in becomes a kick-in, dribbling is allowed on a free kick, there is a 5-minute penalty, unlimited substitutions are allowed, the pure playing time is entered…

“Recently, KNVB officials updated UEFA and FIFA about changes in the rules of the game, which have been tested in the Netherlands since 2017 in amateur football and in tournament form at the promise teams,” says Van der Zee.

“Changes that should make the game faster, sportier, fairer and more attractive. The aim is to realize a pilot for the first division in the 2023-2024 season. In this, in consultation with the clubs and the International Football Association Board (IFAB) , the adjustments are being tested.”
